In this episode, we tackle The Problem With Plagiarism. Plagiarism is a problem, but it is a problem that can be avoided. Let's talk about what plagiarism is, and how we can eliminate it from our preaching.

an act or instance of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that author's work as one's own, as by not crediting the original author:
It is said that he plagiarized Thoreau's plagiarism of a line written by Montaigne.
a piece of writing or other work reflecting such unauthorized use or imitation:
“These two manuscripts are clearly plagiarisms,” the editor said, tossing them angrily on the floor.
Etymology:
plagiarism (n.)
"the purloining or wrongful appropriation of another's ideas, writing, artistic designs, etc., and giving them forth as one's own," 1620s, from -ism + plagiary (n.) "plagiarist, literary thief" (c. 1600), from Latin plagiarius "kidnapper, seducer, plunderer, one who kidnaps the child or slave of another.”
Plagiarism is a sin. It is a sin because when we plagiarize, we are guilty of taking the intellectual property of another person and claiming it as our own.
Plagiarism is avoidable. Giving proper attribution to those we quote allows us to maintain integrity in our preaching.
