In this episode, I want to ask and answer the question, How Can I Be A Better Preacher? We all want to be better at what God has called us to do, right?  I want to share 20 tips that can help us be better preachers. 

  1. Learn to depend on the Holy Spirit to guide your Bible study and sermon preparation. 
  2. Listen to experienced preachers and study their techniques.
  3. Practice public speaking in front of friends and family.
  4. Read the Bible (In more than one version), good commentaries, and other theological works to understand scripture better.
  5. Ask for feedback from your audience and use it to refine your preaching.
  6. Learn how to develop a distinct style and voice to make your preaching more engaging.
  7. Learn how to communicate the message with humor, stories, and illustrations.
  8. Learn how to use technology to enhance your presentations effectively.
  9. Learn how to use body language to emphasize key points.
  10. Learn how to deliver a clear and concise message. 
  11. Learn how to end a sermon.
  12. Learn how to begin a sermon.
  13. Learn how to be yourself.
  14. Learn how to stop thinking about yourself.
  15. Learn how to use your weaknesses to your advantage.
  16. Learn how to maintain eye contact with the congregation.
  17. Learn how to enunciate your words.
  18. Expand your vocabulary. More importantly, learn how to turn a phrase and use similies and metaphors to paint word pictures. 
  19. Learn how to read the Bible clearly and distinctly.
  20. Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you as you preach.
